Information requested from children
(users under 13 years old)
At HockeyLink.Ca, we take our responsibilities
to our younger visitors seriously. In addition
to the steps we take to safeguard the privacy
and integrity of personal information submitted
by adults, we adhere to the following principles
and practices regarding personal information
requested from children under 13 years old.
We will not use personal information from
children under 13 (such as full name, home
address, e-mail address, phone number, etc.)
without first obtaining verifiable consent
from their parents. Requests for parental
consent will explain how we collect, use,
and disclose children's personal information,
and will include an opportunity for parents
to prevent use of their children's information
as well as to prevent their children from
participating in the online activity. Without
prior parental consent, we will only use
a child's personal information (for example,
his or her e-mail address) to respond directly
to a request from that child or to seek
parental consent or provide parental notice.
We will not use, distribute, or disclose
any child's personal information to third
parties without prior parental consent.
If, at any time, a parent withdraws his
or her consent to our use or maintenance
of personal information collected from his
or her child, we will promptly remove such
information from our database.
We will not require children under 13 to
disclose more personal information than
is necessary in order to participate in
any game, contest, or similar online interactive
activity hosted by us.
If you have any comments or questions about
the information you or your children have
submitted on this web site, including its
accuracy, integrity, or completeness, or
if you wish to access, review, verify, correct,
amend, or remove such information, you may
send an e-mail to webmaster@HockeyLink.Ca.
Or, if you have any questions or comments
about our use of your or your children's
personal information or about our commitment
to protecting your and your children's privacy,
please contact webmaster@HockeyLink.Ca.
HockeyLink.Ca pledges to investigate any
complaint you may have regarding our use
of personal information and to comply fully
with the legal or regulatory supervisory
authorities responsible for enforcing our
adherence to the privacy principles stated
above.
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by
and construed in accordance with the laws
of the Province of Ontario. If any provision
of this Privacy Policy is deemed unlawful,
void or for any reason unenforceable, then
that provision shall be deemed severable
from this Privacy Policy and shall not affect
